Organised by the Rotary Club of Brentwood a Becket and in its 38th year, the 2019 Sportstiks Brentwood Half Marathon was held on Sunday 17 March.
Sophie and her merry band of 15 sports therapists were on hand to help the runners pre and post race, offering sports massage, sports taping and sports injury treatment for a charitable donation.
This was SV's sixth consecutive year supporting the event.
Event organiser, Tony Clark, had this to say:
“SV Sports Therapy was once again one of our sponsors, and the service they provided was second-to-none. On the day, we had 3,300 runners entered into the race. SV provided fifteen sports therapists who were busy from start to finish, rectifying the runners ailments both before and after the race. Whether it was a proper sports massage, a quick rub-down or even just advice, they worked extremely hard all morning for four hours straight. We asked them to charge a minimum of £5 per fifteen minute session, all of which was to go to charity. They raised a magnificent £600 and donated the full amount! Some runners donated more. They treated over a hundred runners during that time. SV Sports Therapy, headed by Sophie Vowden, is a wonderful local business and I would recommend them to anyone. We thank them very much indeed for their participation once again, in this, the 38th year of the Brentwood Half Marathon.”
