On Saturday 16 September, Jess and the SV events team attended the Nuclear Blast and Nuclear Blackout events. The morning broke and it was a fabulous start to the day. Although it was slightly chilly, the sun was shining and it was buzzing in the event village. Unfortunately the British weather we all know and love took a turn for the worse and the rain came down. With a few breaks in the day, not long enough for anybody’s trainers to dry out, the fantastic energy in the event village and around the course persisted! Racers had two hours to complete as many 5km laps of the course as they could. With over 60 obstacles to face, there wasn’t a dull moment throughout the day! We had many racers seeking strapping after their first Blast race to help them through their second attempt of the day on the nighttime Blackout course. The SV events team and Jess had a great day, helping as many racers as they could and making the most of the rainy weather.
We’re now counting the days to Nuclear Fallout on Saturday 11 November. Hopefully it won’t be as chilly as last year! #lovemud
