On Saturday 21 January, Chris from SV Sports Therapy volunteered as a marshal and first aider at the Orion Harriers Mercury event.
The 10 mile race was a great success on a sunny but cold Saturday afternoon. There were some familiar faces and wonderful performances across the board.
In total the race attracted just under 100 runners with East London Runner’s Thomas Grimes taking the race win with a time of 1:02:24.
First of the ladies was Alex Gounelas from local running club Eton Manor with a time of 1:10:20 and 16th place overall.
The Mercury trophy, and 2nd place overall, went to Carl Fiford, with a time of 1:02:34 and the first of the Orion ladies was Clare Thurgood with a time of 1:10:33 and taking 17th place overall just behind Alex.
