We are proud to announce that we are an official London Marathon injury clinic

We are over the moon to announce that for the sixth consecutive year, we have achieved the status of official London Marathon injury clinic.

To be listed as a Virgin Money London Marathon injury clinic, you have to know your stuff!

In 2014, when SV first decided we wanted to apply to become an official injury clinic for London Marathon runners, we approached the London Marathon team and were put through an interview process to ensure our knowledge of musculoskeletal injuries was thorough and sound. We were then accepted, along with a handful of other specialist clinics in England.

We have re-applied each year since and are proud to be one of a handful of such clinics in Essex and Hertfordshire.

We genuinely care about every runner we treat - whether it is their first marathon or their 50th!

We love to hear their story, their reason for running, who they are running for and we really enjoy being part of the journey to get them to the start, finish line and beyond.

Please feel free to get in touch regarding any running related matter. From training plan questions to feeling a pain in your big toe, from sweating to what warm-up stretch is the most efficient - we are here to help you.

We are also proud to continue supporting our three local charities and their VLM 2019 runners: Haven House Children's Hospice, Saint Francis Hospice and St Clare Hospice.

We will be in touch with all their runners once they have been selected and will hold marathon talks throughout December - April to help them reach their goals.

The ballot announcement is due on 8 October, but have you secured a charity place already? Do you want to start training but have no idea how? Are you currently nursing an injury that just isn't going away - you've tried googling it, ice, heat, painkillers but without success?

Get in touch with us and let's get going. Before you know it, January will be upon us and your 16 week marathon programme will be underway.

With clinics in Loughton and Harlow, and four accredited sports therapists, we are sure to be able to help you reach your goal.

Running injuries we treat include:

  • Runner’s knee (PFPS)

  • Achilles tendinopathy

  • Plantar Fasciosis

  • Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome (shin splints)

  • Iliotibial Band Syndrome (ITBS)

  • Hip flexor strain

  • Cramp

  • Tired and aching legs

We also offer sports massages, kinesio taping, acupuncture and electrotherapy. Contact us to find out how we can help you prepare for the 2019 London Marathon.
