On 30 June 2017, Orion Harriers hosted the 4th FASTFriday, at the Walthamstow track. A now, well-established night of high quality 5,000m and 10,000m racing.
This year saw the event grow to a new level not least due to collaboration with SV Sports Therapy as the inaugural event sponsor.
A massive 68% of the racers ran PBs and three track records were broken, including a superb 16.37.5 by Highgate’s English U23 champion Hannah Viner in the 5,000m and a mind blowing 30.17.3 by Kent ACs John Gilbert in 10,000m.
In addition to their kind sponsorship, Jess and Chris from SV Sports Therapy were on hand all night to help the athletes with advice, assistance and sports massage, helping to provide each of the racers with the special support and focus that has helped to make this event one that is so popular amongst London’s running community.
