Tommy

Tommy is a national school football player who Sophie has been looking after from the age of 12 years when he first presented with Osgood-Schlatters, managing to play through the condition with her help and regular treatment to combat the symptoms.

Sophie and her team over the years have shown Tommy the importance of stretching, rolling and strengthening his body in order to stay in condition and keep injuries to a minimum through regular visits.

At 16 years old, Tommy was awarded s sports scholarship to a school in Derby and things could not have been going better for him.

However in the English Schools' Footbal Association (ESFA) semi final, a badly timed tackle on Tommy in the last action of the game had horrendous results. A scan showed a meniscal tear, mcl tear as well as anterior cruciate ligament rupture - his season was over.

Following three successful operations and a long 12 months of rehabilitation - which Sophie has been involved with - I am delighted to say that he is back to full health and fitness and looking forward to his first match. His aim is to play in the ESFA final this year, having missed out last year.

He's also just accepted a scholarship to an American university to continue playing football so the future looks bright.
