SV sponsored athlete and Orion Harrier, George Day, ran an impressive race on Saturday 9 February at The Mercury - a tough 10 mile cross-country race through Epping Forest - and won it in 1:03:27!
Although still classed as a junior athlete, 20-year-old George has been selected for the Essex senior men's team inter-counties at Loughborough in March.
In addition to his cross-country season, George is in full training for this year's London Marathon and all is going well.
In 2017, George ran his first marathon - the London Marathon - in 3 hours 15 minutes. This year, he's hoping for sub 3 hours but he won't predict an exact time!
On 17 March, he'll be taking part in the Reading Half Marathon, in preparation for the big day in April.
